Before the internet as we know it today (remember Space Wars?), I used to buy only the fpw paperbacks. But that was only because that's all the bookstore (not bookstores) carried. Those of you familiar with Hollywood Boulevard would know of the World News Stand (pbs, mags, newspapers from around the world, etc.); this is where I had to drive to get my fpw paperbacks. Then one day I found a RJ paperback with the http://www.repairmanjack.com on the last page. I visited, discovered a whole new world of fpw books. Now I buy the numbered edition when possible or the trade when not possible to get the numbered. If it weren't for the internet, I'd still be buying the paperback editions. I echo the earlier post about "searching " for fpw books being an adventure. I miss the adventure, but it's great to have a place to buy and sell fpw books.

Thank you, Mr. Internet

P.S. Didn't Al Gore invent the internet? God bless his imagination. Wink

Before the internet, I searched highand low for FPW books only to be met with blank expressions. Here in Sunny England, it was nigh on impossible to find older FPW books. The 'Other books by FPW' lists in the front of the books I did have only seemed to mock me as I searched without success!

Is this an actual song Bluesman? Pardon my ignorance.

The idea of a - song? poem? ode? limerick? - All Hail The Internet tickles me though...it's just screaming out its desire to be writen.

All Hail The Internet

The old bookstores now lie in ruins
The bookworms shop no more
Amazon came and took our cash
All hail the Internet!

I had The Tomb in paperback
But couldn't find the rest
Now I buy them off the Web
All hail the Internet!

The Tokyo fan wants Haunted Air
The London fan wants Hosts
Everyone gets what they want
All hail the Internet!

F. Paul's laughing to the bank
His coffers overflow
Together now, at the count of three
All hail the Internet!
