Stars: Corbin Bersen, Martin Sheen, & Billy Bob Thornton. Directed by George Hickenlooper (Sling Blade).

Set during the civil war, a Union captain is forced to investigate a series of grisly murders believed to be committed by renegade Confed. soldiers. The Union Capt. enlists the help of a Confed. POW who is his old West Point mentor now war enemy played by Bernsen, and a runaway slave who may have some connection to the events. They soon find out that Confed. soldiers are also being murdered as well as Union soldiers and that they are facing a force worse than renegades.

It's a supernatural thriller. Unfortunately the thriller part wasn't there. It had potential but no edge at all. If anything it was just plain boring. And Adrian Pasdar in the lead role of the Union Capt. was annoying. He decided that a bad vocal impression of Clint Eastwood was the way to go. Uh, wrong!! And the direction was pretty crappy to boot. The description and pics on the dvd box looks good, but don't let it fool you. Don't waste your money on this one.

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it." - Agent K
