Ossicle Wrote:You and Matthewsmommy make the same point, and I think you're right, but that's essentially what I'm asking: If you never had a "real" job or started adult paperwork, would you eventually turn up on some state or federal database as a person who (based on Social Security database) was born enough years ago that by now they should have received taxes from you? Perhaps the answer's just "no," but that's what I'm wondering.

Ossicle Wrote:Neat! I haven't seen it since I was a kid. (Loved it then.) I read it a few years ago, though -- wonderful book. Depressing, though, like so much of Matheson's work.I remember watching (and loving) that movie as a kid, so I was trying to get Matthew to watch it. That didn't happen. He thought the cat was cool, but got bored rather quickly.

I have a fond memory of your area, as I wrote my college thesis on a short story about the Civil War Battle of Chickamauga, and after college I went and visited the site.We have some of the craziest, shittiest, most gorgeous weather. Eighty degrees last week, highs of 58 this week, back in the 70's next. Heat isn't horrible in the summer, but the humidity sucks. It's generally a nice area and the rednecks are really funny. Lots of entertainment just watching them.
