I remember reading a Jack short story more than 20 years ago. I borrowed the book and don't remember what it was called. Is that story in soft? I don't remember too much about it, but it was all about a fix. I'd love to find it again.

"Soft" is a single short story, unrelated to Jack. Without knowing more, I'd guess that the story you're thinking of is "A Day in the Life," which published in the STALKERS anthology in 1989. The fixes involve a laundry and a diner, if memory serves. It's available in the collection THE BARRENS AND OTHERS.
