The Touch-Hodder & Stoughton - maibusch - 07-27-2010
Has anybody ever seen a special binding copy of "The Touch" published by Hodder & Stoughton for sale?
It has been mentioned as the most rare edition of an F. Paul Wilson book and it has piqued my interest. I have nearly all of his limited edition books and even some strange and obscure appearances in my collection, but this one has eluded me.

I wish that was it. It is the same company, but the one you referred me to is the edition that was released to the public. The one that F. Paul Wilson referenced was a special leather binding. He thought that there were only about twenty copies in the world. It reminds me of Stephen King's original 'The Plant", but even more rare. I have seen a copy of that but never laid my hands on one. Thanks for the response.

I was searching for the thread where this is mentioned (I remembered reading about it, but not where) and I think there is an extremely limited staff copy of Midnight Mass bound in a different shade of red that is probably the rarest. I think that was mentioned as being an edition of 10? Not that the regular leather bound edition was all that big, but by comparison...
I've got a few rare items, but it's driving me crazy having everything packed away while I get a room converted into a library. I can't wait to get everything back out and see what I have and what I still need!
And if anyone is selling something good, I just want to mention I'm still buying, even in this economy

I actually have one of the ten red staff copies of Midnight Mass. I think I bought it on Abe Books a couple years ago. It came with a letter of authenticity from the original owner. I believe that the Hodder & Stoughton limited one is going to be even tougher to get. We will see. I am also trying to acquire Advanced Reader Copies of as many of his books as possible. I have about fifteen of them now. It is a fun, although occasionallly expensive, diversion. Thanks.

It was specially bound by the H&S board of directors (the head of H&S loved The Touch) and given away as a Christmas gift. If I can find my camera, I'll take a couple of photos. No mention of limitation inside.

Thank you, FPW. You ARE the man!!! By the way, if you ever make it to Chicago for an appearance or leisure pursuits and are at all interested in playing golf I would be happy to arrange complimentary play at some of our outstanding venues here (I am in the golf business).
I am still looking for any of your obscure appearances. I would venture to guess that I am one of the few people who has a copy of "The Mammoth Book of Stephen". Yes, it's a sickness but it keeps me out of the clock towers.
