Kong! - fpw - 12-14-2005 Just saw it. Blew me away. Three hours never passed so fast. It's an epic, it's mesmerizing, it's amazing. They've added another dimension to the ape that makes the ending a little more painful than the original. But is it better than the original? I'm not sure. The action sequences are light years better, the characters are better developed, it's got more heart, and Ann Darrow's character is so very much cooler -- no longer just a screaming victim. So even though there's something about stop-motion animation that appeals to me, I've got to step over the line and say, Yes, it's better. You must see this, if for nothing else but the spectacle. And the heartbreak. Kong! - Flinx - 12-14-2005 Hoping to see it this weekend. Kong! - Kenji - 12-15-2005 I have a schedule to see King Kong next Sunday. Oh, can't wait! Saw it last night. At the movie's end, the audience stood, applauded and cheered. Haven't seen that in a while. At Narnia, they applauded--but stand and cheer? Nope. Wow. And regarding that extra dimention--more wow. And there are enough monsters for several movies. Only the proper making of NIGHTWORLD can surpass this movie. AC P.S. And I mean "proper." I skipped school today and went to see it as sort of present to myself for all the hard work I've been doing lately, and man, what a present. Great visuals, sturdy acting, and a beast you can't help but love. Kong was an amazing creation. Definitely a big-screener. fpw Wrote:But is it better than the original? I'm not sure. The action sequences are light years better I say equal for I thought it was a wise movie to update and Jackson stayed faithful to the intent of the original. I generally don't like remakes of classiscs unless it can benefit from the technology that modern film-makers enjoy and in this case the results were outstanding. I'm thinking we should start pestering Jackson with healthy doses of the Good Doctor's material if we ever want to see a worthy adaptation. Know any underlings you can get to help? The original always made me so sad, and I don't think I can take an ending that's more painful. *sigh* Kong! - Maggers - 12-15-2005 Noelie Wrote:I'm guessing that I'll probably never see it. That final scene with his bandaged finger waving goodbye....*sniff* Kong! - Anders Monsen - 12-15-2005 Noelie Wrote:I'm guessing that I'll probably never see it.
