Judd Hirsch would make a great Abe, as would the INCREDIBLE Alan Arkin, if he wore a fat suit. Alan Arkin is thin and Abe, as we know, likes his Entenmanns.
Plump Joe Peschi out a little and I think he would make a decent Abe, too. I agree with you about Goodman.

John Goodman is not Jewish.....Yes, I know. But he is actor. If producer said to him like this "Okay, John. Your character is bald Jewish. So you need to learn Yiddish, and pull out your hair", then, John Goodman would say "Okay. I'll do it".

Great idea there, Mike. Joe Peschi would make a good Abe. Lower East Side raised heavily ethnic New York Italians and Jews are similiar. Although I think Abe was actually raised in Greenpoint, Brooklyn or another Hassidic community.
