RJ-11 title - KRW - 09-01-2006

fpw Wrote:Well, I've finally come up with a title: Bloodline. But I was wondering if plural might be better since so many of the novels use a plural noun for the title.

Bloodline

Bloodlines

Opinions?.

If it's about different bloodlines, then "Bloodlines".
If it's only one lineage, "Bloodline".
If you just want a name, I like "Bloodline" the best.

I'll use my maiden post to say that of the two, I much prefer Bloodline, since it does sound more sinister and I don't feel like a plural title should be forced. I never really cared for it when authors felt the need to give books in their series matching titles, anyway (ie. Macdonald's "color" titles for the Travis McGee series or John Sandford's Prey novels).

My first instinct was "Bloodlines." But after further thought, I'd have to agree that "Bloodline" points to a singular lineage frought with something problematic or possibly heroic.

"Bloodline" it is for me.
