Because the real title is an unpronounceable, indecipherable triple overprint that won't reproduce here. It was first published in the David Copperfield anthology (see biblio) FPW Aftershock & Others - Paul R - 03-17-2004 fpw Wrote: I see. And would that be why the book is called Aftershock & Others instead of the pithier title, Unpronouncable, Indecipherable Triple Overprint & Others? Now here's an idea: You used "Colin Andrews" as a nom de plume to get off the bottom shelf of the bookstores. You could publish some books as ~ (Tilde) which is the first character on the keyboard, and be in front of even the "A's". You could publish as "~, the author formerly known as F. Paul Wilson". Or not. Aftershock & Others - jimbow8 - 03-18-2004 Sorry, Biggles, but the ASCII value of the ~ (tilde) comes after the alphabet. I believe the first character would be ! (exclamation point). ASCII Values I like the idea though. Aftershock & Others - Ken Valentine - 03-18-2004 jimbow8 Wrote:Sorry, Biggles, but the ASCII value of the ~ (tilde) comes after the alphabet. Lisa Aftershock & Others - Marc - 03-18-2004 My friends family was very (un)original when it came to naming pets. Two cats: Blue Boy & Big Kitty, one dog: Honeydog. Oh, the creativity! Heinlein's cat Pixel was also a male. (The Cat Who Walks Through Walls.) I named our cat Pixel because when we got her, she weighed 3/4's of a pound. She's still a small cat, so her other nickname, Pixie, is also appropriate. Kaye named the other cat Amy . . . I call her Miss Underfoot. Cats are good people. Ken V. Aftershock & Others - fpw - 03-26-2004 To get this back on topic (how'd this turn into a PETS thread?), I thought I should mention that "Freak Show" is a maybe as part of the collection. I've culled out all my linking material from the anthology and will, if possible, turn it into a stand-alone novella. "If possible" is the operative concept here. I haven't reread the material yet so I don't know if I can bring it off. But it would be nice to see it on its own. Aftershock & Others - jpwynn - 03-26-2004 fpw Wrote: Where can I find "Trolling" |
