Be prepared to answer a lot of questions as we get invaded by the uninitiated. It'll be the trendy place to be! On the plus side I expect The Tomb will sell a LOT of copies between now and the release of the film. Ryan Reynolds Will Play Jack - Annice Burdeos - 09-28-2007 His movies don't really perform that well at the box office and are rarely shown in the international marketplace. And internationally is where most films recoup their budgets and then some. Aces barely earned what it cost to make. Same for Blade Trinity. Amityville performed slightly better but he has not "opened a film" at all. That is to say, a box office gross greater than $25 million. Nor have any of his limited release films experienced wider releases after they have opened. Its really tough in Hollywood to open a film and to "carry it" particularly when attempting to launch a possible franchise. Interesting enough, I read an interview today with him where he was discussing his upcoming films, and projects. There was no mention of Jack nor has Beacon included it on their website.............. Perhaps this changes once a director has been hired. If the director understands the material, Jack has a good chance of excelling. If he does not, Jack won’t last behind this initial foray. Can he succeed? That remains to be seen. Ryan Reynolds Will Play Jack - BK Akitas - 10-01-2007 I refuse to beleive in any other possible reality. this is going to be a success...and thats a lady and SEVEN dogs telling you that true, the ryanreynoldsonline.com site doesn't have it yet- but again, I went ahead and spilled the info. they kept promising an announcement and didn't deliver. me, I'm not under any obligation to keep their secrets for them- and since I don't actually work down that way anymore, they can't bitch slap me for doing it (literally or figuratively). anyone who is depending an a check from Beacon probably is required to say nothing at this point. when I picked up my copy of Bloodlines at B&N yesterday, ran into a very nice lady (who incidentally is a Medium and told me some truly interesting things about me and the munchkin) -she was very attracted to the title of the book and asked more about it. so I got a free reading and she got a free introduction to Jack! hopefully we'll see here around soon, I gave her the website. ya'll gotta have faith and as soon as they make the formal announcement and start shoting, generate some buzz. first weekend its released I plan on taking at least twenty of my closest friends to go see it- even if I have to skip a dog show. Ryan Reynolds Will Play Jack - Maggers - 10-01-2007 Much as I love Ryan Reynolds, it will be the director and the screenwriter(s) that will make or break this film, but mostly the director. Who will that be? Ryan Reynolds Will Play Jack - Annice Burdeos - 10-04-2007 People will see or not see a film for whatever reason. Just as you made a decision to wait for The Brave One on DVD, so others may bo so inclined to do so with Jack. Its been my experience that if you are thinking Franchise or at least another film featuring basically the same characters in differing situations, you'd better open and sustain it over the first three weekends with weekend # 2 becoming the true indicator of a film's performance. (And to date this has not really happened with Reynolds'work. His In't'l box office has been dismal at best) Sure if we create a buzz ala Blair Witch it may make others sit up and take notice and give it a look. One of the things that made LOTR and Harry Potter so terribly successfull was both non Potter and non Tolkien readers came, making stars out of Radcliffe and Mortensen in the process. Key to Jack:the tagline, synopsis, critic response, other casting choices but PARAMOUNT is the director. If he understands the genre he's working in, okay, If he doesn't................... I have yet to see a formal announcement.............. Ryan Reynolds Will Play Jack - Auskar - 10-06-2007 I must be entering the my senile years (or it's just "too many drugs in the seventies"), because for a lot of discussions recently, I mostly want to say... "Huh?" |
