Just wanted to say howdy! I'll start off right causing trouble! Wink What does FPW mean when he says cowboy punk just before the "Tenth Toe"! BTW, I thought that was good story. I always liked Doc Holliday. As he said, he was quite a character!

Cowpunk is the term. Joe or Pat -- I forget who -- came up with it. This was back in the heyday of splatterpunk fiction. They wanted wild weird/dark fantasy in a western setting: What else to call it but cowpunk?

Well, since we have bladepunk, bloodpunk, bunnypunk, cyberpunk, dinopunk, nerdpunk steampunk--just to name a few--cowpunk is just fine with me.

Well I hope you don't mind, but I've been using it to describe cowboys who couldn't ride a horse if their life depended upon it! You know the guys I'm talking about don't you? Thanks for the response, I have read a few books by you and I'm looking for more, it's almost an addiction! Big Grin Thanks for responding to me, and everybody else... Thanks for the welcome, I'll try to get back more often.

We used to call them "Dime Store Cowboys," or "Dude's." But as I haven't ridden a horse or herded cattle in fourty years, I'd probably fall into that catagory myself these days.
