I thought this was an enjoyable movie as well and did actually see some of this in the movie. Damn you and Ken for poisoning my impressionable mind!!

My husband and I saw this movie and he noticed the same thing. It bugs him when they do that. I loved the Incredibles. I thought it was funny and great to watch. Some of my favorite parts were the typical family banter between brother and sister and husband and wife. They captured the tone and nature of those spats perfectly. I may not have noticed if I hadn't read the article RussM posted a link to, but I also saw some of those themes throughout the movie. They did a very good job.

That reminds me... I remember that the teaser for "Freddie Got Fingered" showed a big yacht being dropped and smashed. But that scene was not in the movie anywhere and it did not even make it to the DVD out-takes. That always irritated me.

Some scenes are obviously just edited out of the movie. I have wondered whether that is the case for animated movies also. In the case of the Incredibles scene, though, that struck me as something that was made exclusively as a promo.

This is the first Pixar movie to actually be a movie, that is, it could have been a nonanimated movie and still worked. And after all my talk about Pixar putting jokes in the background, this movie avoids that in order to concentrate on the characters and action sequences. However, there were dozens of tongue-in-cheek references to comic book heroes and villains, one of my favorites being The Mole Man, complete with giant drill; Mirage was Phoenix-ish, and I'm sure you got Ice Man, Cyclops, Batman, and all the others as well. What a load of fun this movie was for a comic book loving fan like me.

Just returned from The Incredibles. What a wonderfully subversive movie. Very politically incorrect. But better than that was how you came to feel real emotion for these animated images.
Dash was my favorite. Here's a kid with a startling natural ability and he's not allowed to use it. Why? Because he'll be identified as super. The pure joy on his face when he's first told to run, run as fast as you can...I got verklempt.
