Conspiracies nit-pick - Jayboman - 10-08-2013 Freyne (I think) was telling Jack "north" Tulsa. He says, "You ever been to Tulsa? I have. It's too small to have a "north Tulsa." Well, actually, I grew up in north Tulsa. In fact, in the early 1900's, part of north Tulsa was called Greenwood. This area was called the most prosperous area for african-americans in the country. And it was, until about 1921. Probably the worse race riot in the history of the country occurred there. I won't go into details, but suffice it to say it was a great calamity. Jayboman Conspiracies nit-pick - fpw - 10-09-2013 It's the same reaction as Californians have when they hear "North Jersey." I spent a week in Tulsa. They have an area they call North Tulsa, but really... (I was also warned about Tulsa's "rush hour." Ha!) Conspiracies nit-pick - Alvin Fox - 10-09-2013 Huh? |
