all the rage - iambear - 04-02-2004 I just finished the book... F Paul Wilson is amazing. I have yet to be dissapointed by anything he has written. I think this book would make a great movie too. now I am off to finish reading Sibs..... all the rage - Lisa - 04-02-2004 Welcome to the board, iambear! Lisa all the rage - Animagess - 04-04-2004 Personally I think this was the best of the RJ novels. Solid characterization, check. Intruiging, well-paced plot, check. Maintains interest throughout book, check. Seamless referencing to previous novels without leaving new readers in the dark, check (not to mention Doug's preferred cafe, the Kuro Kaze! Clever). Gotta be my favorite. all the rage - iambear - 04-11-2004 I am almost finished Sibs and for some reason , I keep thinking of how great this would be if he replaced Rob with Jack and Kara with Gia and jill with vickey..... all the rage - Mailedbypostman - 04-11-2004 If you say so. Welcome iambear! Even though i am also junior all the rage - iambear - 04-13-2004 thanks for the welcome I just finished Sibs.... what a great book... I loved that ending.... First tell us what you've read. all the rage - Biggles - 04-13-2004 iambear Wrote:thanks for the welcome I suggest The Fifth Harmonic. It's still Paul, but it's not horror in any sense. I found it a miraculous, uplifting novel. It sucked me in and held me to the end. all the rage - iambear - 04-14-2004 lets see... the tomb / the keep / the touch / legacies / sibs / the select. i got diagnosis terminal, but I didnt like it..... I thought it was fpw but he was just the editor, all short stories of I remember correctly... I went to the library today and got the keep, it has been so long since I read I want to re-read it and then watch the movie .....if I can get my hands on it.... I have also read the broken hearts club by Ethann Black... wicked book... highly recomend it.... and I have read hte crow-shatered lives and broken bones by J.O'Barr.... so..... what do you reccomond eh  all the rage - jimbow8 - 04-14-2004 iambear Wrote:lets see... the tomb / the keep / the touch / legacies / sibs / the select.MOST of the people, including fpw himself, HATE that movie, just so you know. I, personally, didn't think it was that bad and it is responsible for turning me on to fpw's novels, so it does have that going for it in my book. Read the rest of the Repairman Jack novels and then read the Adversary Cycle (though be forewarned that he will be 'updating' these books for future print editions). As for non-RJ/AC books, I like The Select, Black Wind, Nightkill, and Soft and Others (short stories) the best. Don't get me wrong, they are all GREAT! |
