Please, nobody show that to my husband... Wild, weird handgun - BK Akitas - 06-29-2012 um...no. and I wouldn't want one. ridiculously complicated construction and as for accuracy? it'd be anyone's guess. I'll stick to what I already own, thank you. oh and don't show this to my husband. he'd want one just for kicks and giggles. I'm all out of giggles this week and if brought something like that home, kicks would definitely be in order Wild, weird handgun - idrive - 06-29-2012 I can't imagine the kick on something like that. Wild, weird handgun - fpw - 07-01-2012 Someone said it looked like it had been left on Three Mile Island. I don't recall offhand the name of the Revolver. Needless to say the recoil from shooting it wouldn't be that bad at all. It was designed to shoot one of the three chambers at a time. Left, Right and then center. However by setting a lever, you could shoot all three at the same time. Most interesting. Wild, weird handgun - NewYorkjoe - 07-02-2012 In 19th Century and early 20th France and Belgium, a number of designs for multi-chamber revolvers appeared. "The Henrion, Dassy & Heuschen Revolver (HDH Revolver) was a 20 shot revolver manufactured by the French firm of Henrion, Dassy & Heuschen (HDH) from 1911 to 1928. It was marketed under a variety of names that were supposed to denote power and masculinity. Names such as "Wild West", "Terrible", "Redoubtable", or even "Machine-gun HDH" certainly have a get-down-to-business ring to them." Some of these were termed "barricade guns." The ones I've seen had multiple ranked cylinders, but single barrels. One recalls the LeMat, a .44 or .36 caliber revolver with more than 6 chambers and a separate 16 ga. shotgun barrel underneath. I believe these largely unsuccessful designs were an attempt by revolver manufacturers to surpass the capabilitiies of early semi-automtic pistols, like the Borchardt, Mauser, and Luger. Wild, weird handgun - Karithna - 07-07-2012 Please take my money!!!! Wild, weird handgun - GuyOnEarth - 08-02-2012 This is a Pistola con Caricato. It's an old multi-barrel revolver, made in Italy about a hundred years ago. The break-open design is both weak and obsolete. It's chambered in .25 ACP, which is a weak cartridge with poor hitting power, no more than a modern 22 long rifle, probably. Reloading would be a pain. An interesting feature was the ability to choose either single fire or three at a time. As a defensive weapon, you'd really be much better off with a modern high-powered handgun. More accurate, and much more hitting power. When you're trying to stop someone who might be attacking you, you want knockdown power more than anything else. Hitting someone with three popgun cartridges might just get them mad. Based on what I've read, this appears to be a one-off gun, so there might have been only one made. Wild, weird handgun - Mwinter - 03-12-2013 Having fired a LeMat reconstruction, I'd enjoy giving the one pictured a go. There is also a class of combination long gun often called a 'drilling'; 2 side by side barrels with a third beneath. Most often 2 rifle barrels over a shotgun tube, although the opposite is encountered. Some fantastic handwork on the Merkels and others. |
