I have been a fan of Jack since 1984. I was walking down Houston Street to go to a business appointment at 10 am and glanced towards the river. I stopped dead in my tracks when I spotted a neon sign a block away, that said "Ear". I ran down the street in my suit, topcoat, carrying my laptop, until I got to the sign. Sure enough, the right side of the "B" had been painted over. It was closed, and I was on my way to a meeting, or I would have gone in, sat in the corner under the huge ear and ordered a point of Hoegaarden. The book? By The Sword. That's a fantastic idea. I'd be more likely to spend some time in the City if I could do something fun like that.
