This I am REALLY looking forward to!

Apart from anything else I'm dying to see how it differs from the original Nightworld that I read years ago. I never bothered with the "intermediate" version but I gather that is closer to the new one than the original?

Considerably closer. If I remember correctly, even though the first meeting between Glaeken and Jack was removed and placed into one of the RJ novels, NIGHTWORLD still ended up with about an 8,000 word greater word count.
