One RJ site in NYC is no longer there.... - Maggers - 06-06-2011 The picture below is the cul-de-sac under the East 77th Street overpass on the FDR Drive in Manhattan. It is the place where a certain nemesis of Jack left his heart, so to speak. As I passed by on my walks by the East River, I always thought of FPW chosing that particular spot to place that particular heart-stopping event. Well, that little nook under the bridge on the right side of the picture is no more. The bridge is closed for repairs and they've already taken apart that area. Time marches on, even for fictional characters. Maybe even more so, Maggers... One RJ site in NYC is no longer there.... - Maggers - 06-12-2011 I think think the huge photo of the cul-de-sac where Zek had a hearty encounter with Jack will be removed soon because of its size. So I inserted these photos in appropriate fashion and in a smaller size so that folks could still see the place where the event took place. This would be in "Harbingers." Not even Sutton Square... So thank you, Maggers!!!!! One RJ site in NYC is no longer there.... - fpw - 06-13-2011 Damn urban renewal! I have tried SO hard to find a place that even resembles Julio's, regardless of where it may be in Manhattan. I'd like to get a shot of it and post one here, but those sorts of dive-y bars are melting away like snow in the sun. But there are still Bull McCabe's Irish Pub on 8th Street between 2nd and 3rd, and Mad River on 3rd between 83rd and 84th. I'm always there by half-past ten You'll find me in the corner by the juke box Playin' CHRISTMAS IN PRISON Over and over and over again |
