Readers can get too wrapped up in dates and ages in a series that runs this long. Here's something I threw together to help me keep age relationships straight. It's not complete, but the YA books made it sort of necessary to help me keep perspective. (Any corrections or additions welcome)

The "Monroe cluster" would have been several months in "68".

"Muscles" was early 70's right? Or is that late 60's?

When was "The Keep"?Wink

Right. The children conceived in Monroe around the time of Rasalom's reconception in early '68 made up the Cluster.

"Muscles" was 1963, many years before the riots and the XXX porn. "Hey Paula" and a couple of the nudie-cutie films mentioned were released in '63, and Kennedy was still alive.

Late April/early May '41.

It's mentioned in THE TOMB.

I think it's also mentioned in HOSTS. Didn't Kate say Jack dropped out and disappeared after their mother's murder?

I just didn't remember the name of the college.

I wonder if we'll find out a little more about that time in the prequels?

Thought it was Rutgers, but could be wrong.

Good Thoughts:confused:

Everything ends badly, otherwise it wouldn't end.

Page 214 paragraph 3 of The Tomb 1998 Tor paperback (because that's the copy within reach):

"It had happened during his third year at Rutgers."

I don't recall any mention of which campus.

We do know from this that Jack never received any student aid or got any student loans. Any of that would have required him to have a social security account number. Actually, I would have though a SSAN to be required for application to/attendance at Rutgers by the late 1980s, but I have no references to that. Ah. Just checked. Even now it's "optional" (but probably likely to draw attention):

Quote:Please provide your Social Security Number (SSN). If you do not have a Social Security Number, please leave the field blank. We will assign a Student Identification Number (SIN). Please note that a Social Security Number is required for you to receive state and federal financial aid and some non-need scholarships, and to ensure your claim for the Hope Tax Credit on your federal tax return, if eligible. However, you are not required to submit a Social Security Number for admission to the University if you are not planning on applying for financial aid or scholarships. Rutgers University has a strong commitment to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of student records. Out of concern for student privacy the University will not use your SSN as your Student Identification Number. Although you are not required to provide your SSN for admission, your SSN helps coordinate your admission application with the Office of Financial Aid, which must use your SSN to process your aid application. If you are an international student or recent immigrant who does not have a Social Security Number, please leave the SSN field blank. On the next page you will be assigned a nine-digit Student Identification Number if you do not have a SSN. Be certain to record and retain this number to continue to access your application.
