Harbingers - Pictures - Maggers - 11-30-2010 For those who haven't yet read HARBINGERS, avoid this thread. Spoiler Alert! Another flash from the past. These are shots I took at the time HARBINGERS first came out. They show where the Gia and Vicky suffered the hit and run "accident." They also show the place where a particularly heinous act was carried out...by Jack. Or, put another way, where Zek left his heart. First Shot: The cul de sac, nearly invisible from the highway or the walkway that pass it, where Jack and Zek had a heartless encounter. Second, Third, and Fourth Shots: Assorted views of the cul de sac from across the highway, from the walkway nearly right in front of it and from the walkway several yards away. Jack knew the exact right spot to pick for the job. Fifth Shot: The intersection where Gia and Vicky suffered the hit and run "accident." Harbingers - Pictures - KRW - 11-30-2010 Too cool Maggers! Thanks! Especially the intersection shot, it looks nothing like I pictured it. Harbingers - Pictures - fpw - 11-30-2010 These are great, Maggers. Ya know, Maggers, this is a GREAT idea, since we all have pictures in our minds of what a certain location would look like. East coasters would possibly know what a certain area would look like, but everyone else would have to just make up a picture in our heads. If we could get more pictures, like the street where the bar that Jack goes to, or the street where Abe's shop is at, that would be VERY helpful to the rest of us. There was a James Bond site, wherein people from all over the world had "Behind the scenes" shots from areas that were in the Bond films. We could do that here. For instance, I always wondered what the subway train that Jack shot that crazy "terrorist" guy, and what the platform that they stopped, and Jack got away at! Things like that would be a great help for us to visualize, since we have not been there. While reading the story where the invention of Nicola Tesla was up for grabs (And I really HATED that ending! Sorry, Paul) I went online and looked up where Tesla's New Jersey warehouse was, and the giant copper ball building, just to get a reference. It's very helpful Anyway, thanks for the photos, and MORE, MORE, MORE!!! Lex Harbingers - Pictures - The Mad American - 12-02-2010 Again Maggers, these are awesome for those of us who aren't familar with the...uh hmm...New York area like you are. I do have to say, and it will probably get me in trouble but, the latest post of the subway and what not, the pics in that make your post look huge!! There I said it. Sorry. That's better, eh wot? The pics fit and they don't overwhelm the post or the viewer. LOL. I'm glad you like 'em, MA. For explanation, this is a subway stop in Manhattan, but not the one specifically mentioned by FPW. It will do, though, to give an idea of what the subway is like when you're standing on the platform. |
