Question: does anyone here know the story behind the grave next to Emma's that will not grow and that critters avoid? I welcome spoilers, so please don't hold back on that account!!

You really don't want this spoiled for you. Read the book "Reprisal" like Ken V suggested and brace yourself. FPW himself has problems with that little plot of ground, and he wrote it.

Thanks! You've confirmed my suspicion that it had something to do with Reprisal. I understand that Reprisal covers several years. Where does it fit into the RJ series?

Welcome to the board, Sev. Reprisal should be read right before Fatal Error. At least that's the way I did it.

I believe "Reprisal" spans about five years with the flashbacks included. It's the book in the "Adversary Cycle" that lands right on "Nightworld's" doorstep.

It begins with THE KEEP, and in chronological order (not the published order) the next book is REBORN. Then comes REPRISAL, and finally . . . NIGHTWORLD.
THE TOMB and THE TOUCH all fall within the time line of REPRISAL -- the Repairman Jack novels sort of parallel the events in REPRISAL.
And everything comes together in NIGHTWORLD.
But there are a number of other novels that have cross-over incidents with the Adversary and Repairman Jack series. For example, IMPLANT, which is linked to ALL THE RAGE, DEEP AS THE MARROW, and THE SELECT.
And in ALL THE RAGE, you see links to THE TOUCH -- the "Asian in the Pacer," and the doctor whose name is on RJ's hospital wrist band.
That's all I'm going to say except that you have a lot of great reading ahead of you.

I have been struggling the past week or so to find something to read after reading a really extraordinary book called "Driving Mr. Albert".
My dilemma was nothing was jumping out at my from my shelves or the "new arrivals" section of my bookstores.
I then came across this post and all the replies exploding with excitement for "Reprisal".
And I thought, "How lucky Sev is to get to experience 'Reprisal' for the first time."
So ,what did I do? I decided to read the Cycle again (probably for the 5th time). I just got so excited to read these again. I try to spac eout re-reading all my the Cycle and Jepairman Jack books over the years; but I just couldn't resist them !
Just finished "The Keep" and am half way thru "Reborn". can't wait to get to "Reprisal". Oh man ..... :-)
These books NEVER get old! I always enjoy them, always.
Sev, I hope you enjoy "Reprisal" as much as I did the first AND the the fifth time.
