Rokosh 3D model-fan art - Fun498 - 07-25-2010 Hey all. I am nearing the conclusion of The Tomb and am getting a pretty clear image of the rokoshi in my head. I couldn't find any fan art, so I decided to make my own. I just started a basic mesh with a fairly basic material in 3ds Max and I am planning to make a 15kish polygon mesh with full bump and diffuse textures. Right now I only have a couple hundred polygons forr the torso, legs, arms, and feet. When I get the proportions right, I'll smooth the mesh with Nurms and have a lot more control over detail. I'll update with renders of progress(with Nurms, so it'll look smooth, but not much detail). Feedback and suggestions are much, much appreciated. Everybody has their own idea of the rokoshi and I'd like to get something that everyone is satisfied with. I'm working off of descriptions such as "parady of humanity" and the face being a cross between humanoid and shark-like features. Three claws and humanoid, but disproportionate. I'm going to start using human anatomy and twist it a bit as the book describes. I'll try the same process as the Hindu gods. My memory is lousy so I could be wrong, but the arms seem awfully long and skinny to me and I don't recall them being described as unusually long. And welcome to the board. Is The Tomb your first FPW, or are you just re-reading? Rokosh 3D model-fan art - Fun498 - 07-25-2010 Thanks for the Welcome. I read the two Young Jack books, Secret Histories and Secret Circles. The Tomb is my first FPW adult novel. I'm going to start Legacies in a couple days and I own the entire Repairman Jack series and many other FPW titles, so I'm set for a few years......unless I read them too fast. I think I remember something saying the limbs were disproportioned. I'll go check. I just made the chest much taller and a bit broader too. When I get some more progress, I'll post some new renders. Rokosh 3D model-fan art - fpw - 07-25-2010 Nice start. Rokosh 3D model-fan art - IanSF - 07-25-2010 Fun498 Wrote:Hey all. I'm still finding my way around the forums a bit. I'll leave this thread open a while because I would like comunity feedback so I can try to make a model of a rokosh that most of the comunity can agree on. Farther than just a 2d image, I want to attempt a fully 3d model that is more easily remodelled and molded as more people coice their opinions. I'm going for a more humanoid body and face than the art I saw. I'm thinking more mutant human than shark-man. So shark features will be present, just melded with human ones. Do you guys think that the claws should be all nail or have skin run up a portion of them? And 3 claws on the feet or 5? Rokosh 3D model-fan art - Brian - 07-25-2010 Welcome, Fun. That's a good start on a model. I've thought the rakosh had 3 fingers on each hand and 3 toes on each foot. I like the idea of a claw extending from the finger tip, curved down and wicked sharp. Rokosh 3D model-fan art - Fun498 - 07-25-2010 I remember about the 3 fingers, but I wasn't sure about toes. They are next and then a head. After the head is done and proportions are good, I can get on to muscling and detailing it. Here's a new render with some fingers Rokosh 3D model-fan art - leethebard - 07-25-2010 Ooooh I like those claws,,,,creepy...keep it up!! |
