Special Editions - Drlazarus - 05-02-2009
Just wondering if there was one of the special/limited editions of the Repairman Jack books that stands out above the rest.
I've been looking at Gauntlet's site, and wanted to get some feedback from people who may have them.

There's the ridiculously rare The Haunted Air where, on just checking, ex-library copies are going for $599.95. But there seems to be a good copy for $550 at Alibris. I can't find any copies of Conspiracies or All the Rage right now, but those'll be around $100 if they pop up. I've found everything else for $40-$65.
The Haunted Air is the only one with a ribbon bookmark attached to the spine. Is it the ribbon that makes it so expensive? :p

The after-market value of THA baffles me as well. It had the same print run as all the others, so why the high price? Maybe it's the endpaper. Harry Morris outdid himself on that one.

Maybe the ribbon is made of some rare substance,lol.
I think the hardest part about finding the Repairman Jack books or FPW books in general is so few people give them up.
I'm going to order "Ground Zero" now, rather than pay twice the price later. I also love the fact I can read it in June instead of waiting till Fall.

I have a number of Easton Press books, and they're much nicer than those made by Franklin Press.

I'd say The Tomb, from Whispers Press (signed limited) is the most important RJ book out there.
