Shottle Bop is a Theodore Sturgeon story (it is in Vol. 2 of his collected stories) about a man who gets a magic bottle filled with "What he needs". Really good story, just reread it myself with is being mentioned in this thread.

Interesting.
I had never heard of Shottle Bop, so when I read The Haunted Air, I just saw "Curio Shoppe" with the first letters of the words exchanged.
But not twigging to this for a long time reminds me of a villainess in L. Neil Smiths novel The Nagasaki Vector.
In the novel, her name was Edna Janof. (And Neil also has a tendency to make anagrams of names.) It was nearly a decade before I finally realized that Edna Janof was an anagram of Jane Fonda.

Having just done a search on Sturgeon, I read a couple of short stories of his on scifi.com . Reminded me of dydeetown world. But I did come up with an interesting tidbit. This might be common knowledge since I've only been on for a short time.
