I know that you've been acting as an instructor for a few years now and I'm wondering if you're aware if any of your students have gone on to publish? If so, which ones?

Thanks for the info. I've seen Dan Waters' first book, Generation Dead, at the library so I'll have to check it out. I found Michael McBride's myspace page and turns out we're practically neighbors; he lives in the town due west of me.

Generation Dead is a really good read, and the sequel is due out in May. There are links to reviews on the GD website if you are interested.

A blurb from FPW always catches my attention and thus I find myself loving Eyes To See by Joseph Nassise(you were correct with the spelling). I'm about halfway through it and your blurb is accurate, finally something new under the urban fantasy moon.

I liked this one a lot. He employs a very streamlined approach that reminded me of someone...compulsively readable.

My publisher extended me a five book deal the summer I got accepted. A member of our editorial board also went to Borderlands and spoke highly of it. So I think getting in helping me cement the deal. I can't begin to explain how much I learned in that one weekend.
For me also I prepared for the weekend for six months out like a football team preparing for a game. I read up on all the teachers. I studied their works. I read several books on novel and horror novel writing in the last month before I went. The funny thing was that helped me as much as the weekend.
