The Keep revised (?) - Debby - 03-12-2009

I am trying to read through all of FPW's books as they appear in the Secret History of the world and just finished Black Wind (what an amazing story). Next is The Keep but it is unclear if there is a revised edition or not. Can someone let me know if there is one and if it is out in paperback. (I hope this has not been posted before and if so I am sorry for being repetitive.)

Thanks
Debby

The Keep was never revised, merely tweaked for style.

What do you mean by tweaked?

Just a few minor word changes.

You might read something like, "The plane fell toward the earth trailing a column of smoke after it."

Well, where else would it "trail a column of smoke?" The words "after it" are unnecessary. In the few instances where that sort of thing appeared in THE KEEP, Paul has eliminated the unnecessary words.

You're welcome.

I don't know how many copies of THE KEEP I've given to people over the years, but everyone who has read it, has LOVED it. I'm sure you will love it too.

Happy reading!

I'm sure she will too, Ken.

Thanks Ken and Silverfish.

I know I will love it as I am reading it for the second time. I just figured it would be best to read from the beginning again given all of the new pieces that are being added to both the adversary and rj series.

I just finished rereading The Keep after many, many years. Interestingly, I found it to be even better than I remembered it!

I can also better understand why the film that was supposedly based on it is widely viewed by the majority of my fellow posters as such a disappointment.

I guess the equivalent would be if someone had reared a child for 18 years in the best way they knew how, and some cult came along and brainwashed them until they had only a marginal personality left.

I'm not sure when you saw the movie last but I have a copy of it and it is not what I remember from so many years ago. The book on the other hand is great.

I am rereading the series in part because I have a 12 year old son who loved Secret Histories so I am checking it out for him in terms of content. It sure will be nice having a fellow fan who lives in my house.
