Gateways Question. Minor spoiling. - Libby - 09-24-2008

IN Gateways, when Anya and Jack are going to the site of he accident, Anya sees old alligator tracks. She knows they are old because the mud is dried. If Florida is in the biggest drought in history, where does the mud come from?

In the case of the Everglades, drought does not mean "dry to the bone", it means "really less wet than usual" - imho.

If South Florida dried up totally, Al Gore would make another movie called, "The End of Time; I told You So".

Libby, dear, as much as I revere your close read, if you've ever been in the Everglades, even in the dry season there's always some moisture in the ditches.[/SIZE]

To tell you the truth, if the mud is dried, and there are tracks in it, they're old tracks. At that point it's hard to tell how old they are. But, I think I know where you're going with this. A long drought means a long time between rains, and those tracks weren't even a week old. I'm guessing F.Paul answered your question, because I've never hunted in a swamp/everglade situation. At least I hope he did.Wink
