The Burn Notice - Paige - 06-29-2007

Just watched the premier of Burn Notice on USA.

I'm a huge fan of Jeffrey Donovan from his "Touching Evil" days and i wasn't disappointed. The premise is fairly simple. An ex-spy who fell out of favor with the gov. is now stuck in Miami helping the little guy. It reminded me so much of Jack i wanted to cry a little.

The easy, laid back character, the "simple" fix to complex situations...everything a gal needs after a long day in the office. So, those who have seen it, nay or yeay?

The Burn Notice - Auskar - 06-29-2007

I've got it DVR'd, but haven't yet watched it. I like the actor, though, also from the Touching Evil series and I was so disappointed when that show was not successful as a series.

The Burn Notice - Sam - 06-29-2007

Damn! I missed it. I wanted to catch this show. I had once, long ago, suggested Donovan as a possible Jack, but those few who knew him kind of laughed me off. I still think he's a good choice. So I thought it was funny when I read about his character in this new show. He's sort of like Jack. What a strange coincidence. Rolleyes If this show is successful, I'll bet the next person to suggest him won't be laughed at.

I, too, was a fan of Touching Evil and was bummed when it didn't return for a second season - I figured it wouldn't cause it did lack that certain special something. But I've wondered how the American version compared with the original English version?? Better, worse, no comparison? I hope he has better luck with this show.

The Burn Notice - Paige - 06-30-2007

Huh, i must not have seen your suggestion of Donovan for Jack, because I certainly would have approved it.

I've never seen the UK version, but i heard from multiple sources that it was better than the American one. I liked whoever scored Touching Evil because the music was absolutely wonderful.

Don't worry about missing it, I'm sure USA will rerun it 100 times untill the next one.

I've watched both versions. I liked both versions. I had seen the American version first, so I was probably partial to it, but I really liked both versions.

Donovan would make a great Jack.

You and me both. Whenever I like a show, it is almost automatically destined for quick cancellation. I like the chick that plays his girlfiriend or ex-girlfriend, whichever it is, especially when she uses that Irish accent. And it is really cool to see Bruce Campbell on a regular basis again (at least until the show gets cancelled). Big Grin

I've got the first two episodes tivo'd. Saw this one and thought it looked good. Glad to see I wasn't wrong.

Susan, I thought the same thing when I first saw it. This show reads like a 'how to' guide.
