Was the title of the YA novel mentioned before this? I don't remember seeing it before now.

Probably not. We hadn't fully decided on the title until recently. (Well, I had, but the publisher was reserving judgment. I think they're sold now.)

That's cool!

What constraints did you have for writing a novel for the YA market? Are their rules or guidelines or do you just go with common sense?

I think back when I was that age and I was probably ten times more naive than kids today.

Thanks for posting, Paul.

But...what is "filed a 1040"? And, what is "über-arcs"...

Since no one else has answered these yet...

Kenji Wrote:But...what is "filed a 1040"?

A 1040 is a form Americans use to file and pay their taxes. Jack, naturally, has never paid any taxes.

"Über" is German for "super". See here for details.

The "arc" part is referring to the arc of the story (see here for more on that if you need it). Since the RJ series has story arcs that cross many books, FPW is saying they can be thought of as "super-arcs" or "über-arcs".

Thank you, Blake! Now I got it. Smile
