Nightworld (MINOR SPOILER AT BOTTOM) - Dave F - 12-30-2006

As many of you know I got the new Nightworld for christmas

Well I've read it and I just have to say thank you to Michelle for buying it and thank you to Mr FPW for rewriting it

It took me 2 nights to read - I couldn't put it down

Fantastic - thank you

I don't want to give any spoilers away -

but just to say I loved Mr V's new house guest at the end - I had been waiting all through the book for an appearance

It took me so long to read the last few pages - I had to keep stopping to wipe away the tears, especially for the bit you mention here.

I'm sure you'll agree that this is one of the great re-writes. The story was wonderful to begin with. Horror and angst with a lot of other emotions too many to list. Now that the story was re-written....it's even better.
Maybe I'm biased......no....not me!.....but FPW can sure write a story!

How much of a difference is there between the re-write and the original? If it's big I just might have to buy it again.

For starters, there is an additional 8,000 words.

I have the original, and I certainly wasn't disappointed in the revised novel.

Trust me you HAVE to buy it

I have read the original 2 or 3 times

I really enjoyed the re write - well worth it. And there is no way I could wait until the mass market version - LONG wait for that

Okay, darn. So, if I want to read Nightworld, it makes sense to first read Reborn and Reprisal. Am I right or wrong? Because I have read none of these yet, but I know there is one novel that has Jack in it that is part of something different. My mind is thinking that this is Nightworld, right? Or wrong?

The Adversary cycle runs - Keep, Tomb, Touch, Reborn, Reprisal & Nightwolrd (in order of publication)

The repairman jack books start at Tomb, and will eventually end at Nightworld

The current books take place at around the same time as Reprisal & reborn links into Haunted Air

Before you read Nightworld I would recommend you read the rest of the adversary cycle & all the RJ books upto and including Harbingers. Otherwise Nightworld will just be either confusing or full of spoilers for your future reading

However it may be a while before the mass market version is out, and I got number 929 of 1000. I don't know if they are sold sequentially, but if they are I would buy now and put it on one side until you catch up.

Well, I've already read all of The Repairman Jack novels except for the one that is part of the Adversary Cycle, Nightworld -- so that part's not a problem. I just was trying to skip ahead of the Adversary stuff since I don't generally read horror. Hell, I guess I've already read 14 or so F. Paul Wilson novels (RJ, LaNaque, and the vampire novel)... so I guess I'll read the others.

I just like Repairman Jack.
