Dai-bosatsu tôge (Sword of Doom) - fpw - 11-16-2005

This is old school, B&W, yet very cool. A little confusing at times, but some real character development and (at least for me) an unpredictable course. The sword fights are far more realistic and less acrobatic than the flying silliness of later films.

If this is an old movie, I believe I've seen, only because the title is familiar. I remember next to nothing about it. If it's new, and I doubt it with the B&W, then I haven't seen it. Best one I've seen lateley is "Ong-Bac", cool movie!
Hands down best kung fu movie for me is "The Five Deadly Venoms." It's old and it's the typical cliche' Kung Foo movie from the seventies, but it sticks with ya.

This is about the only kung-fu movie I can remember from my youth. I bought it a couple years ago at Sam Goodies. You're right. It stuck with me, too.

Paul, sometimes you find good Japanese movies! Smile

Have you ever seen "Tsubaki Sanjuro"? This is also classical Japanese sword action movie. If you like Dai-bosatus Toge, you'll like it.

I recently bought and watched "Samurai Assassin" . Woo hoo! What a great B&W movie! And starring my favorite actor no less!

Who is your favorite actor? Toshiro Mifune or Tatsuya Nakadai?
