Ghost Hunters - Sam - 08-25-2005

For those who haven't caught this show on the Sci-Fi Channel it follows a group called T.A.P.S. (The Atlantic Paranormal Society). Basically they investigate suspected hauntings and other paranormal claims. What makes them a bit different is that their main objective is to disprove any stories or evidence they get in order to have definitive proof. You don't have to wonder if it's staged when something actually happens.
In the first season there was some very freaky evidence they caught. Some EVP's, a chair moving (on video), and one of the film crew's camera bag shot up and hit him in the face knocking him on his butt to name a few. But mostly the calims were proven false as best as they could tell. It was a fun show to watch, even for skeptics.
Well, 5 episodes into the second season and...only a couple of neat things. The investigations have come up lame. Also, it seems like the show has become more focused on the members than the investigations. Kind of a soap opera feel to it now. Looks like some ambitious producers have ruined another good show. I'm still going to watch it because something weird has to happen eventually.

I can't locate the thread, but awhile ago Tony posted a link with some footage where when filming a car commercial iin Europe (I think) a strange apparition was captured on film or tape or whatever media they were using. It was astounding.

Anybody out there still have this link?

That show was pretty cool. We only watched one then it stopped coming on. I hear its back. We saw the one in the old prison. I don't really believe or disbelieve that stuff but I have been in this old house in Huntsville, TX. This house was so weird. It was really old and had "cold" spots. That was the only way I could describe it. It was the middle of summer and you would walk thru a room and you'd walk thru this freezing cold spot. But when you tried to walk thru it again it would move. It also had doors that opened up on the second floor to the outside of the house - into open air. Freaky! It was a cool house though.

Reminds me of the Winchester House in San Jose. Now that is one weird house.

Does it have a website? Sounds intriguing.

Yes, and it is intriguing: Winchester Mystery House.

I've been there, but I stumbled across it while in town on business and didn't arrive in time for a tour. I had to be content with taking lots of pictures of the outside and visiting the gift shop. I intend to go back sometime.
