Oh please oh please oh please... - Anders Monsen - 07-22-2005 I think dogs have a long history in life and fiction as warning methods. Cats couldn't give a damn, but witness the dogs in "The Terminator" movies, and even MIDNIGHT MASS, where as the vampires roll into town the entire dog population starts barking. Cats lack the allegiance that seems a part of dog nature; even small dogs will attack bigger ones when the human to which they have bonded is threatened (Oyv's actions in CRISSCROSS has many real life similarities). But, like everything else, dogs can have violent natures to the point that can kill just as easily as protect. I have nothing against cats, but I might be inclined, since these are women, to visualze some sort of "Brocken" connection if I saw a cat... Oh please oh please oh please... - jimbow8 - 07-22-2005 Mythologically, I think that dogs ally with man, while cats are usually more associated with the supernatural. For example, Egyptian mythology, witches. Oh please oh please oh please... - Maggers - 07-22-2005 Anders Monsen Wrote:I think dogs have a long history in life and fiction as warning methods. Dogs always play a big part in Dean Koontz' books. "The Taking" is a prime example. Fabulous book, BTW.
