jimbow8 Wrote:Check out Playing by Heart. Several different storylines which all come together at the end. Especially good is the storyline with Angelina Jolie and Ryan Phillipe.

Thanks Jim, I'll try to look into it.

Any good comedies out there? I need something to laugh about.

My favorite comedy movie is "A fish called Wanda". Well...already you saw it? But if you didn't see it, I recommend it. Big Grin

There are so many good comedies. What type do you want. Intelligent, stupid, cute, vulgar?

Here is my list of comedies that I own on DVD, so though not complete, these are some of my favorites:

I seem to be watching quite a few of his films of late: Spartan, Oleana, State and Main, and The Spanish Prisoner, all of them good. I thought Spartan was excellent and boasts another fine performance from Val Kilmer, but Oleana blew me away. From a writer known for his dialogue, this movie contains some of his very best and William H. Macy's performance did nothing but bolster his rapid ascent up my list of favorite actors. And it features one of the most psychotic characters I've ever seen.

Oooh, another good comedy is Keeping the Faith. It's a romantic comedy, admittedly kind of a chick flick, but probably not much more so than Love Actually. Edward Norton plays a priest and Ben Stiller plays a rabbi. It's one of my favorite movies, but I haven't met that many people who've seen it.

Well now you've met one more. I liked it, especially Jenna Elfman, and Ben is quite muted which makes a nice change.

It was Ed Norton's first time directing, and I think he did a pretty good job.

One I'd recommend is Idle Hands, Ken. It's a horror comedy, a little in the vein of American Werewolf in London, but more emphasis on the teenagers, and their stoner attitude (think Bill and Ted).

And Jessica Alba is soooo hot in this film. Big Grin

I found Idle Hands a delightful surprise. The mix of humor and horror fails so often, but this one worked. Laughed aloud in a couple of spots. I think this has to go on the queue for another look.

I'll have to wait on that. The horror at home is about as much as I can handle right now.
