Britfan,
I was able to get a copy of Freak Show a few months ago, what Maggers said is so true.

Limited hard back on UK E-bay - current bid is £28 (about $56) and reserve not met yet

Think I may have to go looking for the paper back

Thanks - If I can't raise the money for a decent bid this week I'll go for that one

Wish me luck on the horses!

Just added Freak Show - the Limited signed was on it's third relist on E-bay.

I figure i was destined to buy it - gave others 2 chaces - and it was just sat on e-bay calling to me

I'll never be rich - this FPW habbit is starting to get expensive

The paperback cover was hideous, but I was especially pleased with the Borderlands Press edition (one of the most beautiful hardcovers I've ever been in). Phil Parks did the cover (a brilliant sideshow poster) and the interior art. My idea (for the hardcover only) was to write Phil himself into my backstory as an artist who was hanging around, sketching the freaks. Phil's artwork was given the look of pages torn from a sktech pad. This integration of art, artist, and story makes the hardcover a unique book (I think).

How much input do you have in cover art, Paul? I agree it is =very= important. Especially the spine--author and title LEGIBLE!!! Don't get artsy-fartsy. Had a conversation once with a certain Big Name whose name I will not mention...OK, OK

Have to agree with that, it's not pleasant to look at, but it was the only copy I could get at the time. But the story is fantastic, Maggers and cobalt are right on the money.

Nice one Dave, congrats on your win. Unfortunately, my pockets don't run to getting special editions, just getting the books sometimes is hard enough, when they can only be found outside of the UK.
I did splash out on 'The Last Rakosh' though, a birthday treat.
