And people who love sausage and respect the law should never watch either being made.

P.S. I'd take a smartass over a lawyer any day. Wink

Touche. And I love sausage (especially bratwurst steamed in beer served with sauerkraut and brown horseradish mustard) more than I respect the law.

My apologies for using the title "Dr." When I wrote the original note, I was new to the forum and just didn't know any better.

To put in my two-hundredths of a dollar on another post: I think I'd rather be a smartass than a dumbass.

I finally managed to find all six books of the Adversary cycle, so once I get some other books out of the way (including "Midnight Mass," "Hosts," and "The Haunted Air"), I'm going to try reading all six right in a row, and read them in chronological order, instead of publishing order. I may be hiding under the bed by the time I finish. Big Grin

None necessary.

That would mean reading REBORN directly after THE KEEP.

Is that really the sequence that you recommend? I always thought it went
The Keep
The Tomb
The Touch
Reborn
Reprisal
Night World

I always thought that Reborn made a good precursor to the events in Reprisal, whereas the Tomb and the Touch are less directly related to the story arc.

But I guess you'd know best! Wink

Reborn takes place in 1968, The Tomb, The Touch, Reprisal, and Nightworld take place after that. The difference is publishing order versus chronological order.

You said you were going to read them "chronologically." That's the chronological order (as opposed to the published order).

No, that wasn't me. I was just commenting that I think Reborn transitions into Reprisal very well.

It does! It's just that Reprisal, The Touch, and the RJ novels take place at about the same time. So my preferred chronological order of reading would be:

THE KEEP
REBORN
THE TOUCH, REPRISAL -- or reverse
THE TOMB
LEGACIES
CONSPIRACIES
ALL THE RAGE
HOSTS
HAUNTED AIR
GATEWAYS
CRISSCROSS
ETC.
and lastly:
NIGHTWORLD

YMMV
