I liked it too, but not sure I would attach 'classic' status to it. And modern audiences would probably find it laughable.

Most people feel cheated by a horror flick if they aren't bathed in arterial spray within the first few minutes. I actually hear people make decisions on what to rent based on what the movies are rated. "AVP isn't any good, it's only pg-13."

I still cannot find that movie funny in any way. I recently watched it with my husband, and 3 other people and they were laughing! I couldn't believe it. I was so creeped out! I saw that movie for the first time when I was only 12 or something and it scared the crap out of me then too.

P.S. There was way more wrong with AVP than it being only PG-13. :p

Has anyone seen the "Version You've Never Seen" ? I saw some of it on cable soon after it came out. I didn't like the change to the ending. Any other opinions?

I saw "The Exorcist" in Pittsburgh in January 1974. We had just moved back into the dorm before Spring semester, and only half of us were back on campus. I think it was Friday night, but anyway, a BUNCH of us went to see it together at the theatre. I thought it was great, but many of the guys who had toked up before going were totally freaked by it. When we got back, they doubled up if their roomies hadn't come back yet. Since I wasn't high when I saw it, I can't tell you why they were so freaked.
