The prior is convinced he must destroy the book before it works more evil, yet no one who has held the book is to be trusted. And it may be that those who possess this mysterious book are, in fact, possessed by it.

Torquemada wasn't much concerned with "devilry." He didn't even believe in witches, having the surprisingly advanced notion that they were just deluded old women. What got him excited were Jews and Muslims who had nominally converted to Christianity to escape the mass exile of 1492, but who retained their old religious practices. (Which is a bit weird with regard to Jews, since Scripture recommends that Jews who accepts Jesus as Christ should remain Jews and continue to follow the 613 Commandments.)

I just queried Srem, who is part of this forum, so let me check with you, too, FPW: since the Compendium appears in whatever language the reader happens to speak, if I download a copy, will this cause problems with my eReader such as short-outs, flash burns or inadvertent banishment to alternate dimensions? Just want a head-ups up if you see any potential problems. :p

There's also this problem with the pages in the book...they never seem to reappear in the same numerical order as when first viewed. :p
