The Expendables - colburn0004 - 01-26-2009

Bluesman Mike Lindner Wrote:The original, FIRST BLOOD, wasn't like that at all. Far as I recall, the only person to get killed died through his own stupidity.

When RAMBO came out they had some chart of amount of people that died in each movie and I think it was one for First Blood, and went up to something like 200+ in Rambo. I'll try to post it if I find it again.

The Expendables - Alvin Fox - 01-26-2009

I found the body count chart here.

As far I know Sly's not actually tatted up like in the pic. Just a type of henna that lasts for the duration of filming.

Wouldn't it be awesome to have gotten all of these old action movie stars for this movie? Bring Swartzenegger out of retirment, get Steven Seagal, Jean Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Rutger Hauer.

Eh, might get really expensive then.

But Gerald, when are you gonna post more of your fiction?

I'm working on something. Unlike in the past I'm gonna keep my clap shut until it's finished.

But I am doing something quite interesting that I haven't done too much of in the past. I'm plotting. And it's not going bad, either.

The Expendables - Keith the Elder - 03-04-2009

AlvinFox Wrote:Has anyone heard of this? Written, directed and starring Sylvester Stallone. About a team of mercenaries sent to South America to overthrow a dictator.

Also starring Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Forest Whitaker. I have high hopes for this movie. So far there's only this picture. Filming starts next month and it's scheduled to come out in 2010.

I saw this already, but it was called "Tropic Thunder"

Now THAT's effective marketing.

The Expendables - Alvin Fox - 08-20-2010

I saw this a few days ago. It's a great action flick. I was expecting mindless, gratuitous violence in the vein of '80's action flicks and got exactly that.
It had Terry Crews clearing out a corridor of bad guys with an automatic shotgun and yellin' to his buddies, "Remember this at Christmas." He then began taking everything out with that shotgun.
Granted, it had some slow parts and a few awkward parts. But I was completely entertained. I'll see this again in the theater and buy the DVD when it comes out.

I liked the last Rambo movie as well.

Ditto. I thought quite realistic. The extras on the DVD were good, it explained the situation in Burma.
