I'm done talking with you...if I had bothered to look before hand I would have realized that you were from Texas and not even engaged you...debating with a Texan is like debating with a Christian...not enough "up there" to have a useful debate. Have one, hombre. The Keep-DVD. - RichE - 12-27-2007 fpw Wrote:If you buy a bootleg, get the widescreen transfer (off the laserdisc). I've got my problems with the film, but the set design and cinematography are superb and best appreciated in the original ratio. You know it Paul! Picked my LD at the Princeton Record Exchange for 3.99! The widescreen image and crispness of image blows the fuzzy, grainey prerecord outta the water. LONG LIVE LASERDISC! I do not feel that I was the one that insitigated the attack, but I will be the better man and end it. Perhaps I overreacted and for that I apologize to you, Mr. Wilson, since this is your site. I'm currently reevaluating my earlier discussion with the Queens in regards to deleting my account on this site. Lately, it has caused me nothing but heartache and for some reason I've been getting irritated rather easily by what people say on this board when usually i could give two sh*ts what anyone thinks about me. Again, I apologize to you, Mr. Wilson for my actions, but I refuse to apologize to WGB since I feel that he insulted me first. v/r CPT K The Keep-DVD. - fpw - 12-27-2007 sigokat Wrote:Perhaps I overreacted and for that I apologize to you, Mr. Wilson, since this is your site.CPT KNo apology necessary. I sensed things escalating so I waved a flag. That's all. We have an ignore function on the board. If someone consistently rankles you, you put them on your ignore list and you'll never see their posts. sigokat Wrote:I've been getting irritated rather easily by what people say on this board when usually i could give two sh*ts what anyone thinks about me. This is where folks create problems for themselves: When they infer that a negative comment about one of their opinions is a negative comment about them. If you don't make the distinction, you're going to feel hurt and irritated wherever you post. The Keep-DVD. - Sigokat - 12-27-2007 fpw Wrote:No apology necessary. Its not what people have said in regards to anything I have said, but just in general. I guess I was a little fuzzy in my last statement. Its just an overall general vibe I've been getting...believe me I've been in the Army too long to be "hurt" by anything anybody HERE could say to me...irritated yes, pissed off yes, but hurt no. I just don't care that much. Still, I think I am going to leave. Its not worth it to me anymore, but its been a pleasure speaking with you, Mr. Wilson. I just regret to have to leave on a bad note. Take care, Sir, and I hope to see some more of your works soon. I'm still waiting to see if the Limited Edition AC series can be shipped to an APO so I can get them sent out here. My own experiances on the SCARLET STREET forum awhile back illustrated this when their forum members attacked me on personal grounds because of my very sane, common sense and very fair suggestions on Illegal Immigration. The chief attacker, a writer who didn't know me from Adam, proceeded to tear into me on a vicious level when the group started to make light about the death of Bob ("Christmass Story") Clarke and his son (an illegal immigrant, intoxicated, drove his car into the director's causing the death). I carefully defended my viewpoint, done without malice up to that point, by asking these individuals if they would repeat these horrid things in front of the devasted wife and other family members. They totally ignored that question and continued the attacks. I left the forum pointing out that the attitudes represented another aspect of the fanboy fringe-not intelligent discussion, a sad state of affairs of a group more interested in talking about gore cinema than real life. And the writer who hated being challenged..... At this website, Paul has brought togeather, in a family atmosphere, a great place where we all can come togeather and WITH RESPECT exchange ideas and opinions without fear of personal attack or mudslinging. To AGREE to DISAGREE is a wonderful thing to do-it builds character and always gives us a chance to pause and to think. So c'mon, shake hands here and give us all more food for thought! And the writer who hated being challenged..... Thought your post was worth quoting. And there's another thing about disagreements, there should be 1 thing you DO agree on! Maybe try to focus on that. Something like, I don't know... How great FPW's books are? I see too much "forum fighting", and it gets old very quickly. The Keep-DVD. - RichE - 12-27-2007 Thankyou for quoting me. I was trying to use my own experiance to illustrate how pointless it is to attack others on a personal basis. I agree fully that we all love Paul's books (even an ole blowhard like myself likes to know good taste when presented to me!) otherwise we all wouldn't be here. Lets face it-all of us, from the old to the new members, have become a family and enjoy exchanging ideas or points of view. And if I have accidently offended anyone here I do say 'I'm Sorry' here and now! |
