Nothing that we know about....that's what makes me nervous. Especially if Tinky and I are home alone, or so we thought! Your thoughts on The Lady - XamberB - 10-18-2006 I always thought The Lady was Jack's mother because she arranged for Jack's mother and father to meet and produce Jack. Maybe there was something in the bloodlines of Jack's mother and father that would produce a child capable of fighting off The Adversary. Your thoughts on The Lady - furin - 10-18-2006 Hmmm.. now that you mention Bloodties, that brings up a thought I had before I came up with the thoughts of the incarnation of Mother Earth thing. I had originally thought, after hearing The Lady say "I am your mother" what popped into my head was perhaps this is the spirituous avatar of his real mother trying to protect him. Perhaps there will be some sort of link or so, as you suggested, in Bloodties. (I never really gave much thought into the title name, but now that you've given that suggestion.. hmmm) Your thoughts on The Lady - cobalt - 10-18-2006 XamberB Wrote:I always thought The Lady was Jack's mother because she arranged for Jack's mother and father to meet and produce Jack. I've always wondered if Jack's dad had an encounter with the Otherness. To have his parents arranged to meet would show so much interference, especially considering how many things that have happened to Jack's family to help"temper" that spear. I think in Harbinger's it is implied SPOILER WARNING********* That the agency behind the making of Jack is the Ally, and not the Lady. If such is the case that the meeting, marriage and eventual children created by the parents of Jack was orchestrated it seems more likely that this was an action of the Ally and not the Lady, but who knows for sure. I have stated elsewhere my query as to whether Jack's mother had a dog, that could be interesting. Your thoughts on The Lady - tenebroust - 10-18-2006 cobalt79 Wrote:I like this line of thinking. I think this is something that is also implied in Harbingers SPOILER WARNING********** I think it is of significance that Jack chose to take the box with the medals and photos in it from his Dad's "lost years" while in the war in Korea. I think this may provide the link to the "otherness" experience of his Dad if there was one. Jack says his Dad never talked about the war years so it is ripe for revelation. Your thoughts on The Lady - furin - 10-18-2006 I just thought of something else that would key into The Lady being an avatar/incarnation of Mother Earth. As we all know, The Lady had a strange pattern on their backs and how Rasalom always wounded them. Those marks were the maps of where the nexus points are, were they not? Perhaps each time the nexus points are activated and such, that is where the injuries come from. Your thoughts on The Lady - furin - 10-18-2006 That could also explain the hole in The Lady when Anya died. Basically the mother earth defense was no longer there and that area was concidered lost, hence it 'disappears' from the world. That brings up an interesting point: Perhaps there's precisely one lady/dog pair per focal point. Blake |
