I prefer Aishwarya Rai also, but she just got married and I think there's some question about whether she can do "romantic" scenes now with anyone other than her new husband. In that case, Morena Baccarin would be a good alternative. I'm sure the makeup artists can make her smolder. Wink

Also, if Dakota Fanning is too old to play Vicky these days, she has a younger sister - Elle Fanning - who is now acting in movies. Here's a photo of Elle with Ryan Reynolds (who might play Jack??).

I would actually like Nathan Fillion as Jack. I hadn't thought of that before, but I don't know if that would be acceptable to a Hollywood studio. I guess it depends on what the budget is like.

Of course, bear in mind that I am a woman, so what do I know about it anyway? :p

I didn't know that. And we sure don't want anyone burning FPW in effigy.

I think she just got married just now. The news has been going on and on about it and I wouldn't have recognized the name if it weren't for that.

However, if you need an Indian actress to play the role, I could recommend Janina Gavankar. I like her and she has personality. http://www.msdewey.com/

If we are actually getting our movie in this lifetime, I still vote for this pretty chickie.....then again, I'm prejudiced Smile

The RJ movie then gets an immediate boost as the Whedonites will flock to anything with Mal and Inara in it. Beacon will jump at the chance to have two rabid built in audiences.

Although I agree with Noelie about Aishwarya Rai, you're right about Nathan Fillion and Morena Baccarin. They would go well together. But then Firefly fans would flock to any movie with Fillion in it whether Morena is in it or not.

Quote:I can't believe I hadn't thought of it before but while reading Gateways the other night I thought of Fillion as Jack and he's stayed there since. Absolutely perfect for the role.

Someone else has mentioned him to play Jack before on this board, and I couldn't be in greater agreement.

Quote:For Gia? None other than Elizabeth Banks:

Ironically, she was Nathan Fillion's co-star in Slither.

It's fate I tell you.

There's where we disagree. I believe Elizabeth Mitchell would make a better Gia. Gia has to be elegant as well as beautiful and sexy, and Mitchell would fill the bill there.

So, I'm going with:

1. Nathan Fillion as Jack

2. Elizabeth Mitchell as Gia

3. Aishwarya Rai as Kolabati

I think you made an excellent choice.

Morena Baccarin would be a close second in my book.

Yes, indeed!

And I'm going with them:

1. Cole Hauser as Jack

2. Ingrid Kavelaars as Gia

3. Shilpa Shetty as Kolabati
