Ryan Reynolds Will Play Jack - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 04-21-2008

Kenji Wrote:If the movie is "Deep As The Marrow", Michael Mann is good for director.

I think DEEP AS THE MARROW is so powerful a tale, it would be =hard= to ruin. By anybody. And, jeez, Mann did butcher THE KEEP, but he's gone on to direct some decent flicks. Hasn't he? Ain't it time to let bygones be bygones?

Mann is a curious egg.

The Last Of The Mohicans is one of my favourite films, as is Heat. I didnt think much of Miami Vice.

Collaterol was good, but I think it's spoiled somewhat by the gimmicky casting of Tom Cruise. He becomes less and less convincing each time I watch it.

Haven't seen the others, but I thought HEAT was top-notch.

Danny Devito and Whoopee Goldberg?????? But who would play "Vicky"?

Right on target, Lexator! Vicky would be played by Britney Spears.

Then it would be Brett Rattner directing, not Michael Mann.

This has always been the best representation of Jack that I have found:

Ron Eldard

I can't get by him as the whiney womanizer in Mystery Alaska or the annoying newbie pilot who end up blind in Deep Impact...has he done anything where he plays angry effectively? I'd definitely watch it.

Ryan Reynolds was Berg in Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place fercrisakes!!!! Not that I didn't love him in that role. Neither Amityville Horror nor Blade 3 impressed me in the least.

Ron Eldard was in Black Hawk Down and Sleepers, among other things, but I don't know if he was "angry." That picture always impressed me aesthetically mainly, but I think Eldard could also pull off the acting. Reynolds is too BIG (height and breadth). Jack should look unimpressive. I've also thought a wiry, toned DiCaprio could pull off the role (after seeing The Departed), though he is also 6' tall.
