the Oracle Wrote:Speaking of Night World updates... Did anyone notice that Ralph (is that the name of his corvair?) is gone in Conspiracies and returns in Night World? I have not read the rest of the RJ series, so I don't know if he gets his old Corvair back, but I could swear I remember him having it in Night World.

Any input??

*****MINOR SPOILER ALERT FOR GATEWAYS*****

I know in GATEWAYS RJ says, as he is admiring some vintage cars, that he hated having to give up his Corvair because it made him too noticeable.

Etc.

There are going to have to be a whole lot of minor revisions in NightWorld. Ralph is one of them. Knowing who Sal Roma really is, another. Having seen him face to face at least twice at this point, knowing about the Otherness, knowing about Glaeken, knowing that he is a warrior in a battle--I imagine that the first meeting between our two intrepid heroes is going to be significantly different, for example. His knowledge about the war even existing will change the timbre of things, for sure.

Mike,

MUNDANE fix-its! Other than to describe his looks, mundane cannot be used in a sentence with RJ. Big Grin

Actually, that line--one I love--, "I can see only one path to my honor," comes from of the better Star Trek novels. Hmmm...was it the ENTROPY EFFECT by Diane Duane? In any case, a character sez just that: "I can see only one path to my honor," and Spock replies, "Suicide does not seem to me a creative solution to your problems." Which is a line I love even more. Wink

In my sense it relates to the non-supernatural cases Jack takes (e.g., Sister Maggie).

Main Entry: mun·dane
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English mondeyne, from Middle French mondain, from Late Latin mundanus, from Latin mundus world
1 : of, relating to, or characteristic of the world.

In the fanish sense it's a noun meaning someone from the real world.
