Check it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0406941/ I didn't know that English title is "Witch of the Pacific Ocean". If you don't know Japanese language, you definitely can't understand. So......you need English subtitles? Ah, I thought my sarcasm would not translate well into text. As I see, I was right. Shame on me. Lorelei - Kenji - 03-05-2005 xmradiodave Wrote:Ah, I thought my sarcasm would not translate well into text. As I see, I was right. Shame on me. Ah, well....it's okay, it's not your fault. English sarcasm is too difficult for Japanese. Also, Japanese sarcasm is too difficult for an English-speaking people. Well, talk about sarcasm is enough. You said ,"This movie looks very good". Do you like Japanese movies? If you so, when you see Japanese movies, is it an English subtitles version, or English dubbed version? Lorelei - Kenji - 03-24-2005 Today I went to see this movie. It was pretty good. If it was 20 years ago, maybe Japanese couldn't make this movie. I don't recommend to all people, but if you like "Crimson Tide" or "The Hunt for Red October", I highly recommend it. Ki Kenji, I came across this article on Monday about a submersible Japanese aircraft carrier from the last days of the war found off the coast of Hawaii recently. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050321/ap_on_re_us/japanese_submarine_2 I don't know how much in common this has with the movie but I will definitely keep my eyes open for when it opens over here. Lorelei - JF1ID - 03-25-2005 Alan Wrote:Ki Kenji, Alan, thanks for sharing that link. I can't even think of anything to say about this find, except "NEAT- O! " It makes me wish I was able to get my foot in the door to do some underwater archaeology. This author is Harutoshi Fukui. The title is "Shusen no Lorelei". I guess this is not released in US yet. So.....if it released in US(English version), I recommend it. http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/4062749661/qid=1111749700/sr=1-4/ref=sr_1_10_4/249-8241502-2492301 Lorelei - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 04-12-2005 Alan Wrote:Ki Kenji, I tried to find the info, but got "Document Not Found." If memory serves, the IJN built a couple of very large, for the time, submarines equipped to launch floatplanes. Might that be the story? |
