Ah, well....it's okay, it's not your fault. English sarcasm is too difficult for Japanese. Also, Japanese sarcasm is too difficult for an English-speaking people.

Today I went to see this movie.
It was pretty good. If it was 20 years ago, maybe Japanese couldn't make this movie. I don't recommend to all people, but if you like "Crimson Tide" or "The Hunt for Red October", I highly recommend it.

At first glance, it look like a Hollywood movie, but this is truly Japanese movie. It reminded me of Crimson Tide, The Hunt for Red October.....or BLACK WIND???? (Lorelei = Black Wind-like weapon........I hope not!).

Alan, thanks for sharing that link. I can't even think of anything to say about this find, except "NEAT[B]- O![/B] " It makes me wish I was able to get my foot in the door to do some underwater archaeology.

Yep, this movie's story is fiction. But history itself is true. This author is Harutoshi Fukui. The title is "Shusen no Lorelei". I guess this is not released in US yet. So.....if it released in US(English version), I recommend it.

I tried to find the info, but got "Document Not Found." If memory serves, the IJN built a couple of very large, for the time, submarines equipped to launch floatplanes. Might that be the story?
