This is one website I found with a list of true IMAX screens.

I've yet to see an IMAX movie outside of an amusement park. So, I want to see it on a true IMAX if I'm going to spend the extra money on it.

Just be aware that some films have scenes shot in IMAX format with IMAX cameras (Dark Knight Returns/Star Trek Into Darkness) and need the proper IMAX screens to show those scenes in the superior format.

However I don't believe Pacific Rim had any scenes shot in IMAX format.

The big screen experience may still be worth checking out at an IMAX cinema, but it is still the same film and the same digital 8K 'print'.

I just saw it in so-called lieMAX 3D and it was great. I truly appreciated the scale of the production. Of course I'm sure it would have been even better in true IMAX but that would have involved a round trip much longer than the film itself. It wasn't that good.

Today I saw it on IMAX. I really REALLY loved it! It reminded me of old Japanese giant monster movies. Oh, good ol' days...

I really enjoyed this too. Even more so when I kept entertaining the idea that it was a Cthulhu tale where no one knows who, or what, Cthulhu is and that's why the name is never mentioned.

Ok I finally saw this and was underwhelmed. I saw it on a shitty little screen on a transatlantic flight. I guess it shows that the film is all about the spectacle.

i wanted so much to enjoy this, ah we'll should have gone to a cinema I guess
