ImDeranged Wrote:I am at 35 Hardbacks, I almost forgot Beige. 8 Borderlands Editions, all but 2 Gauntlet editions. ( I picked up The Haunted Air from Amazon Marketplace last year under $30 shipped, someone had it under the TOR Isbn but with a note saying the cover was different. It's still sealed but I can see it has the sewn in bookmark/ribbon so it's a lettered or PC of the lettered.)

If memory serves, I believe, due to an error at the printer, all copies of THA came with a ribbon and the wonderful Harry Morris endpaper.

I was at the big VNSA book sale yesterday, and saw two of the Gauntlet Press editions of Paul's novels...I decided I'd pick them up as I was on my way out the door, and contemplate whether or not I wanted to spend $25 each for them.

When I got back, they were gone.

Instead, I ended up with nine of the RJ paperbacks bundled as a set for $15.

Didn't find too much other stuff by Paul at the sale.

On the other hand, I found a set of six Smothers Brothers LPs on Mercury Records for $6.00.

And I made my roommate's Valentines Day almost perfect for her...she's a big Sue Grafton fan, and I picked up every single one of the Kinsey Millhone novels in hardback for $60, including two signed first editions.

I'm looking for the New English Library 1st printing hc's of The Touch and The Keep. I have The Tomb, Reborn, Reprisal, and Nightworld NEL ists already. I also need The Foundation, Implant, and Sister Night UK 1st printing hard covers as well. It's always easy to find the book club editions, but I'm looking for the 1sts.

The problem with getting UK editions in The States is shipping costs. I also try to get bargains, so I'm still looking.Big Grin

I'm confused - I thought Putnam was the 1st ed for The Touch and William Morrow for The Keep? If I've been reading the bibliography wrong someone please tell me so I can go back to searching - still new to the collecting game.

You had a bunch of stuff for FPW to sign on Thursday that I'd never seen before, particularly the short stories in the small-press pulp magazines from early in his writing career. He had a funny expression on his face while he was thumbing through them before he signed them, when he remarked, "You know, I never actually got PAID for any of these." Big Grin

That was funny. I have to thank fpw for keeping such a thorough bibliography. Otherwise I'd never have know many of those publishings exist. I'm glad no one got annoyed when I packed my box of books in. My wife told me he wouldn't sign 10 books. So, I added a few more to the box. She doesn't know The Effster very well, do she?Wink

T4, I do believe Paul is happy to sign any of his works. Like any writer. Or actor. Or artist. Or dancer. Or musician.

Creative people need approval so badly. And are so unsure. McCartney didn't know if HEY JUDE was any good.

Sally Field got it right.
