Ghost Hunters Season Premier Tonight - Tony H - 09-14-2008 jimbow8 Wrote:Isn't Brian the one who they fired from the original show back in Season 1 because he kept losing things and not taking responsibility (was that why?)? Yeah, Brian was fired from TAPS then SciFi hired him for Ghost Hunters International and again made him tech manager and again he got fired. No one knows why this go around. Last time he was fired for losing equipment and stuff, but more because of his continued lies to the group. He seems to have started his own group or something. He does a lot of solo work and his offering paid speeches on the paranormal. Looks like he is chasing the almighty dollar instead of ghosts. Ghost Hunters Season Premier Tonight - Tony H - 09-18-2008 Last night's episoide was pretty creepy. Some good debunking went on and the audible response to a question directed at a child-ghost was just freaky. I'm a bit confused by their occasional surprise of the K2's ability to allow them to interact with spirits. It was first introduced to them on the episode with the Manson Murders/Chaplin Studio where it was used to talk with the spirit of Jay Sebring, which was before the last season. And it's produced quite a few hits since that time. I figure the episodes are aired in a different timeline with the actual investigations for better viewer ratings. Can't have a string of debunked hauntings and lose viewer interest. Also, the guy who introduced the K2 to them had a show called "Haunted Adventures" that investigated the Goldfield Hotel in which a ghost throws a brick across the room and knocks over some 2x4's. The reaction of the 2 guys was hilarious... High pitched screams and I-just-dropped-a-stink-pickle-in-my-pants freaking out. Not saying I wouldn't react the very same way. Now, GH investigated that same hotel last season and didn't even investigate the basement where this took place, and the owner acted as if he were a non-believer even though the Ghost Adventures seemingly took place well before the GH episode. So, if GH knew about the previous investigation's events why didn't they go in gun's blazing, and why did the owner come off as skeptical when he wasn't during the Ghost Adventures show? I was pretty thrown off by that. :dontknow: Ghost Hunters Season Premier Tonight - Sam - 09-18-2008 My bad on the previous post! Thought you were referring to the show last week. Just now watched this week's episode - have to tape them the night before. An EVP is cool, an audible voice... that's creepy. That 2nd voice was weird, though. As it was ending the voice became deep. The show this week was a bit lacking in ways. Seemed like it was hurried along. Ghost Hunters Season Premier Tonight - Tony H - 09-20-2008 Sam Wrote:I just wonder if the boy took Jay's offer? The inconsistencies have been grating my nerves a bit as well...I thought Ghost Hunters visited before the Adventures but that is because I saw the Ghost Hunters episode first. They also visited the Old Washoe club as well. There was another inconsistencey that bothered me this episode past. They mentioned that high EMF's make conditions perfect for paranormal activity in the first act. In the past they have used this as a debunking logic...high electromagnetic fields can cause nausea, disorientation, skin rashes, etc...in those with hypersensitivity. They even used the high EMF as a debunk in the second half while investigating the house. However, when investigating the inn they said that high level EMF's is a sign of a haunting. That bothered me and I can't help but wonder if they might finally be selling out. There is a lot of speculation that Donna LaCroix and other left TAPS because they were begining to fake evidence because SciFi wanted them too. Another example being Brian Harnois (and others?) thinking that anything the least bit abnormal was paranormal or when they would implant leading information to other members or the "client." Brian was good at thinking everything was paranormal. "I swear to God dude...I just saw a shadow! It's a ghost dude!" I thought them getting rid of him was the best move. The skepticism in the first 2 seasons was what drew me to the show in the first place. I liked the angle of "We are going to debunk your claims." People tune into the show to see paranormal activity though. I liked tuning in to see the cast find logical explanations for alleged paranormal activity. I guess the producers want to find a happy medium...but since Grant and Jason are the executive producers it makes me wonder. |
