Definitely Kate.

And the stranger's name: Henry Gale. Wasn't that Dorothy's father's name? And he came to the island in a balloon...like the Wiz.

Those symbols were definitely hieroglyphs. Anyone know ancient Egyptian?

I love this stuff.

I don't know if its been mentioned before either, but it just hit me the other day the name John Locke. I'm not very familiar with John Locke's specific philosophy other than it being used as a foundation for the Revolution.

I also did a Wikipedia search for James Ford and came up with this:
James Ford, an American newsreader and journalist.
James Ford, a 19th Century American pirate and civic leader.
James "Sawyer" Ford, a fictional character from the ABC program Lost.
A river pirate??? I don't know if that has any relevance.

The other thing I really liked about this episode was Clancy Brown as the CIA(?) operative. I always thought he was so great at playing a menacing chara cter. I confess I did not notice the picture the soldier was carrying, I am not observant or smart enough to catch those things.

I recognized a few of the symbols, but I couldn't get a clear view of them.

I've always liked Clancy Brown from "Buckaroo Banzai" to "Highlander" to "Spongebob Squarepants."

... to The Shawshank Redemption to (dare I say it) Starship Troopers.

Starship Troopers was a good movie. Will you people please stop ripping on it? C'mon, it's not that bad. Especially when you compare it to movies like "Starship Troopers 2."

I agree. I really enjoyed it. There are a lot worse flicks out there than ST.

I LOVE it, but I know others hate it...... (ahem, Bug Wars: Jim VS Ken)

But I'm a movie whore. I like most movies..... I even liked The Keep. Big Grin

A friend of mine sent me this link earlier today --> translation

I did notice the picture was Kate but only because I had recognized her father. The whole Henry Gale and balloon thing went right by me though. MUCH better episode than the previous one.
