I imagine that making a good movie is like painting a car: (and so many other things as well) to do a good job, 90 percent of the work is in the preparation.

They've finally got a script that everyone likes, (If FPW is happy with it, I'd say that it's pretty good) now they have an actor whom everyone seems to like, (even though I've never heard of him before -- though that's not saying much) now they have to fit the rest of the characters around him.

They will probably interview hundreds of actresses and actors to find the right ones to play Gia, Julio, Vicky, Kusum, Kolabati, Abe, Nellie, and so on.

I wouldn't be surprised if the casting takes four or five months. In one sense, I'd almost hope it takes even longer. Finding the "perfect" cast isn't easy, and casting is a really major hurdle.

Not yet, but that's what I've been told by others on here. I said I would concede until i watched Smoking Aces and Amityville Horror, but the DVD rental place does not have them here.

I am going to buy Amityville, but am waiting for pay day. I have no idea what Smoking Aces is about, but I will not buy that one till I've at least seen it.

Sig, a question for you. Don't tell me anything I'm not supposed to know, but has/does the U.S. Army ever issued speed to men going into combat as the Wehrmacht did in World War 2?

I don't know 100% yes or no about the past, but I have heard of such experiments being conducted in the 1950s.

I can say that nowadays...NO especially since we take random drug tests in the military.

I asked Marine Capt. Kyle about that at Marty O'Brien's Public House the night of my post. Generally he doesn't care to hear military questions when he's relaxing with a brew, but this one caught his interest. His thought was the US military doesn't issue speed anymore--the drawbacks outweigh the very temporary advantages. But he remembered hearing from an old SAC guy he was once chewing the fat with, that speed was indeed issued to B-52 crews on airborne patrol during the Cold War. Not only to keep awake and alert during the long flight over the Pole to their targets in the Soviet Union, but to lessen very natural fear. 'Cause if the Third World War had broken out while they were on patrol, our SAC crews would have carried out their missions with courage and professionalism. But they knew they weren't coming back.
